I was wandering around the internets last night, and stopped by one of my favourite soap makers’ site, Haus of Gloi, and decided since I had a few bucks in my Paypal account, I’d get myself some more body emulsions (moisturizer). In the winter, I picked up:
“A lively blend, pure black tea chilled with peppermint and the tiniest spike of honey, with powdered chamomile and peppermint leaves.”
This one took me a little while to get used to. I love that they create such wonderfully different scents, and this one is so unlike what I’ve used before that it took a little while to grow on me. It’s minty, and has in interesting effect from the chamomile. It’s sweet, but with the tartness of a tea.
The other one I picked up in the winter was Apothecary!
“Old books, bubbling concoctions, herbs and creaking floor boards! A pure essential oil blend of: Lemongrass, rosemary, blood cedar, sweet basil, lavender and the tiniest drop of vetiver.”
I absolutely looove this one! The smell of basil comes out strongest to me, but the scent is so green and rich, it feels old, ancient, and like some sort of tonic you’d get if you required a cure from an apothecary. It’s delicious!
This is the scent I wear when I am doing spells and rituals. There’s just something so earthy about it that as soon as I smell it, I feel instantly connected to the green earth.
So the ones that will be coming in the mail are:
“Pure corruption: clove, nutmeg lurk amongst the sweetest offerings of coconut, on a bed of rich golden amber, laden with dustings of sandalwood and spilled wine.”
And Moon Dog:
“”He will gorge himself with the life of all who die, and he will swallow the moon, spattering blood throughout the sky and all the heavens. Because of this, the sun will loose its brightness while the winds turn violent, roaring in from all directions.”
– The Prose Edda by Snorri Sturluson.
Solar storms erupt: pure cracked coconut, dry sandalwood essence, heated with nutmeg and clove.”
I am so very excited! I will let you know what I think of the next two scents when they come! 🙂
