Making all the art

The inspiration bug has bitten hard over here. Not only for paintings, but I’m feeling the need to make music wash over me again. I’m focusing more on the paintings at the moment, but I have been recording snippets of melody and even lyrics now and again.

It’s funny that I used to think I SHOULD only focus on one or two things, and now I’m like, YAAAASSS, all the things, all the time. I’ve even been planning a couple different meads.  And also (see I told you I just wanna do all the things), I’ve been feeling a very strong pull back into witchcraft, which has fallen very far off to the side in the past few years.
I suppose now’s the time to do things since once the holiday buying season ramps up, I’m not going to have time for anything at all.

But let’s talk about the paintings because I haven’t shared them with you here yet. I currently have 4 that have been printed and are ready to ship when I get the proper sleeves for them, they’re my Elemental Goddesses.

Even though I wanted to start putting these up in the shop earlier, turns out I didn’t plan for the extra matting around the prints, and now I have improper sized plastic sleeves to ship the prints in. Sigh.

The reason why I’m waiting to fix that issue is that I am currently in preparations for my first craft market next month, so I’m waiting for funds to be replenished first. However, I’m excited to see what a market is like on the selling side of things!

Lastly, I just finished Her last night, is my Star Goddess. I really loved painting Her, and I think when I order prints, I’m setting one aside for my own wall. Also, nebulas are so fun to paint!

Lughnasadh Tea

Lughnasadh

Lughnasadh, Lammas, the first harvest of the year!

Such a comforting cup of tea with sweet and woody rooibos as the base. A sprinkling of oats, a few sliced strawberries dusted with the tiniest pinch of cinnamon, and a grassy-sweet helping of chamomile flowers reminiscent of the dried fields of late summer waiting to be harvested.

You can find this lovely tea here!

Yes, this one is a little late, though for me, I celebrate each Sabbat 20 days before the actual date, as well as 20 days after. The Sabbat seasons work well this way for me as the energy grows, peaks, subsides and moves into the next quite nicely 🙂

But back to it being late, I’m actually going to vend at my first craft show at the beginning of August, so it’s been quite busy around here with preparations, and orders, and planning! I’m quite excited, and if you happen to live in Southwestern Ontario, you should come visit! It’s on Thursday, August 10th, between 10am-4pm. It’s in Sauble Beach, at the community center.

This will likely determine whether I want to do shows more regularly, but I’m not gonna plan that far ahead before even having experienced it! Excited though!

Midsummer Tea

Midsummer

This utterly yummy tea is one of my favourite summertime flavour combinations: raspberries and peaches! It’s a blend of honeybush tea, black tea, peach pieces, rosehips, and calendula petals. Ripe berries and sunrays ❤

This would make an excellent iced tea for those long hot summer days.

You can find Midsummer tea here.

This group of tea has definitely been a lesson in the fact that knowing when I’m going to be done formulating is not always very predictable! I had been hoping to finish them by the end of April, in fact I had 9 or 10 of them finished! However, a few teas were just not working out for me, flavours weren’t turning out how I wanted them, and then reformulation had to happen.
It’s also a lesson that sometimes flavours that work in baked goods, or food that we actually eat doesn’t translate very well with the ingredients I have for tea. And that’s ok, because now I know!

Iced Teas!

They’re back! And already I’ve been sipping on them, muahaha! And now you get to as well! Wee!

Top Left: Black Lemon, Tart Berry, Tropical Ambrosia, Strawberry Mojito, Gingered Peach, Midnight Mango, Magical Melon (centre)

I’ve also been a busy bee thinking up new recipes that I will be getting up in the shop soon! In the meantime, there are a few reformulated blends back up as well!

Thor‘s blend now is a lovely mix of spearmint and peppermint with a little sprinkling of safflower.

Sweetroll has a base of black tea and calendula petals, and the delicious flavours of buttery pastry and creamy, sticky, gooey icing. So much yum!

And lastly for today, Second Breakfast Tea is back! It’s a traditional robust and malty English Breakfast tea blend, and so very comforting as you wake up and get ready to go on your next adventure!

Happy sipping, guys! ❤

Yay! Some Autumn Teas!

In case you missed it, September’s newsletter went out last week (which you can find here and sign up if you like!). And in it, I revealed three new teas for the cooler weather that is (hopefully) coming!

dsc01616

Inspired by cool evenings at the fair and the sweetest treats, a blend of black tea, almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, pecans, and peanuts. But that’s not all, they’re covered in a light and decadent dusting of sweetest maple sugar.

You can find Maple Roasted Nuts here.

dsc01613

Beware the Evil Queen’s apples, lest you fall prey to their ill effects, such as wanting more tea!

A fantastic tea that tastes just like apple crisp. Honeybush tea provides a warm, fruity base for a simple blend of apples, cinnamon, and oats, mixed with a goodly amount of brown sugar, of course!

Poison Apple Crisp tea is to be found here.

You must hurry before the carriage turns back into a tiny pumpkin, so come on and sip awhile until the bell tolls the midnight hour!

A delicious pumpkin spiced chai, you’ll start with a base of a deep and dark black tea, then nutmeg, ginger, clove, and cinnamon will warm you inside and out. Finishes with a delightfully familiar creamy dollop bringing out that pumpkin flavour, whilst apples and pumpkin seeds remind you of the harvest season.

This delightful Pumpkin Carriage tea can be found here.

I hope you enjoy having a gander at the new delicious teas! I know I’m enjoying drinking them (the best part about being a tea-maker!).

Now Revealing The Secret Project!!

I have been waiting for quite some time to get this project all done, but you know how it is when you do a bigger project, and in my case, the teas had to be JUST RIGHT! I’ve been mentioning working on it here and there over on my Facebook page, so I know there wasn’t much anticipation here on the blog, but yay!!! It’s done! And now for the big reveal!!!

*drumroll*

Welcoming in the May

Well, hello there, dear gentle reader!
You may have noticed it is quiet here in terms of anything spiritual, and that’s mostly because it’s been quite busy! Spring is always a season of getting shit done, and shit has most definitely been getting done around here!

I’ve been fixing up the bathroom here, and let me tell you, these arms are not meant for doing ceiling work! 😛 And perhaps that’s a reason I should be working them out, lol.

Then I’ve been filling out many orders and working on recipes that need to be reblended or slightly tweaked. Then there’s the SECRET project that I was wanting to get out last week, but other things keep taking up my time. However, I’m still super excited about it, and hope it will roll out within the next two weeks.

Spiritually, things have been quiet, but looking back, there’s always a bit of a lull this time of year, and I think a lot of it has to do with said busy-ness! I am going to be getting out to the gardens, so that will give me that meditative time, therefore I will have some quiet time for the spring and summer to sit with my Gods. 🙂

And as for the gardens, I’m done with in-ground. The weeds are just the flipping worst, and I never want to do it again… ok, now that that drama is done… I’ve decided to make a couple smaller raised beds. No huge garden anymore since I never want to grow potatoes again (Colorado Potato Beetles are the worst! Go back to Colorado!!). I want to grow things that are expensive to buy in the store.
I’ve already begun buying berry bushes, currently there are raspberries, blackberries, white and red currants, and a goosberry bush. I did have blueberry bushes, but unfortunately I live with mow-happy weirdos (no offense, family, I love you), and they were mown over. So blueberries are on the list again this year.

And then in the garden proper, the husband-man wants tomatoes for paste making, I want some for salsas, and then a million kinds of basil, more herbs, zucchini, Swiss chard, carrots, beets, onions, pumpkins, butternut squash, and a few other things I’m likely forgetting.
And since that garden will be smaller, I can have more flowers and be able/have the energy to take care of them elsewhere.
ALSO…. MULCH!

Anywho… that was just a bit of an update on where I am right now… and I wanted to add that the May newsletter went out yesterday! You can find it here, and please do subscribe if you are so inclined! You will receive a lovely little coupon in the first email too! For the most part, I do a once-a-month email, but when I have secret projects, or sales, there will be other smaller letters to let you know first by email! ❤
